Our Great North Run Champions!
Last weekend, a group of amazing individuals took on the challenge of the Great North Run, proudly running in support of SASH.
Despite the rain, the runners laced up their trainers to complete the 13.1-mile race to help raise awareness and funds for the vital work that SASH does across the region. One of the SASH runners shared this feedback; “Running the Great North Run was an amazing experience. It was great to be able to support SASH. The atmosphere was incredible and the support along the way made it a day to remember.”
We’re also excited to share that a few weeks ago, one of our amazing SASH Hosts, Caroline, was approached by the media team behind the Great North Run, FilmNova, for an exciting opportunity. Caroline, who ran the Great North Run for SASH, was interviewed on what the charity means to her and why she’s taking on this challenge for us. There was also a feature from a Young Person at SASH whose life has been changed as a result of people like Caroline.
In case you missed it during the live event last Sunday, we’re thrilled to now be able to share it with our online community. You can watch it here!
SASH would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the runners, their supporters, and everyone who donated. Without the hard work and dedication of people like them, SASH would not be able to continue making a difference to young people across North and East Yorkshire.
You collectively raised a whopping £3917 for SASH!
For those inspired by the achievements of this year’s runners, there are always opportunities to get involved with SASH. Please reach out to fundraising@sash-uk.org.uk
Once again, congratulations to all of our runners for their incredible achievement in completing the Great North Run 2024!
