And That’s A Wrap!
Back in June and July, York based non-profit art collective, Bombsquad, hosted their fourth project ‘Rise Of The Vandals’ over the course of 3 weekends where they were raising money for SASH.
The event saw artists from all over the UK showcasing their talents in a disused central York location (2, Low Ousegate, YO1 9QU), using all and any aspects of the building! Prior to the event starting, a few of the SASH Young People created some amazing artwork which was then showcased throughout the 3 weekend long event.
At the end of September, the SASH team met with the incredible Bombsquad for a cheque presentation. After months and months of hard work from everyone involved, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that this year’s exhibition raised a whopping…
£21,712.89 for SASH!
‘We were so honoured when Bombsquad chose SASH to be their chosen charity for the Rise of the Vandals, street art exhibition 2024. It was a huge privilege for our young people to work with these amazing artists and the opportunity to have their artwork displayed at the event was an incredible experience for them.’
The effort, time and dedication of everyone involved means so much to us as a charity. We are so grateful to receive this amazing amount that was raised by the Bombsquad team and everyone who supported the exhibitions by donating and purchasing artwork. Having the opportunity to work with groups and organisations like Bombsquad, is so important to us, as it means we can continue raising vital funds to help more young people facing homelessness.’ – Linsey Trower, SASH Fundraising and Communications Manager at SASH
Marshall, one of the Young People at SASH also shared ‘To be a part of something unique, that was pretty close to home made me feel special as an individual. Learning about different people’s walks of life. Made a difference on mine.’
Another huge thank you to everyone involved in this absolutely incredible exhibition. It most definitely is one we’ll remember!
