Georgia lost both her parents by the age of 12. By 16 she was homeless.

You can help rewrite the course of her life, and hundreds of other young people, by remembering SASH with a gift in your Will. Gifts, large or small, make a real difference.

There are three ways to make a gift to SASH in your Will:

• Residuary gift: you could choose to leave a share, or the whole, of what is left in your estate once you have provided for you loved ones.
• Pecuniary gift: a fixed amount of money.  If you choose to leave a fit in this way please be aware that its value may reduce over time in line with inflation.
• Specific gift: an item such as jewellery or property.

To make a Gift in your Will

If you have already made a will but would like to leave a gift to SASH, you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing will. This is called a codicil.

If you have not already made a will, we would strongly advise you to see a solicitor. Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive professional advice and can be sure that your wishes are achieved.

If you would like to make a gift in your Will the following wording could be used:
‘I give [xxx] to SASH (Safe & Sound Homes) of IT Centre, Innovation Way, Heslington, York, YO10 5NP, Charity Registration Number 1054890 for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the Director or other proper officer of SASH shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.’

You might also consider:

• Asking family and friends to make a donation to SASH in lieu of funeral flowers.
• Making a gift to SASH in memory of friends or family members.
