SASH is a youth homelessness charity that works across York, North and East Yorkshire.
We help young people aged 16-25 who are facing homelessness.
We do not run a hostel or own any property. The accommodation we offer is through our Nightstop and Supported Lodgings services, which rely on volunteer ‘hosts’ who offer a spare room in their own home. Our services are as much about supporting young people to resolve the problems which have led to them becoming homeless as they are about putting a roof over their head. Part of this support is provided through our SASH Enhancement programme.
Those we support are referred to us by Local Authorities and other partner agencies. In the East Riding, we also run a Resettlement scheme in partnership with The Hinge Centre in Bridlington.
SASH is a trading name of Safe and Sound Homes, a registered charity (no. 1054890) and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (no. 3179309).
We are governed by a board of trustees, elected from our membership.
