Partnerships with businesses that benefit everyone

SASH works with businesses of all shapes and sizes.

Thanks to them we can reach more supporters, raise more funds and help even more young people.

We know that every business is different and has different ways it might want to get involved. We would be delighted to explore with you what best suits you and your employees. Here are a few examples from our current supporters:

Barratt Developments Yorkshire East

A huge big thank you to local housebuilder Barratt Developments Yorkshire East for choose SASH as their Charity of the year, raising over £50,000 through a series of fundraising events. These included Lap of Yorkshire, golf and fishing days, as well as hosting a ball on behalf of SASH.

Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East said “Given the challenges that so many vulnerable young people in the region will have faced this year, we’re proud to have been able to support SASH and the vital work the organisation does locally. We’re always keen to support the communities in which we build as much as we possibly can and hope the funds we’ve raised this year will make a difference to those the charity supports.”

PenLife

“In 2021, the decision was made to support SASH as our Charity of the Year. We were so impressed with the work that the charity does in helping to prevent homelessness in young people through North and East Yorkshire. Without SASH many young people would be sofa surfing, or in hostels or ending up on the streets. We were extremely proud to support SASH throughout 2021 and are delighted to have raised £6,173.38”.

The PenLife Team threw themselves into several fundraising activities to raise funds for SASH. Even one of the Directors, hurled themselves out of a plane! The Tough Mudder team ran 10 miles, through mounds of mud while negotiating, what can only be described as torturous obstacles! A team of three also took on the Great North Run and lived to tell the tale. And five pairs of trusted, old walking boots were dusted down and given a challenge of conquering the Three Yorkshire Peaks!

York RLA

The York Residential Landlords’ Association has supported SASH for many years. For the last two years Andy, the Chair, has taken part in the SASH Sleepout. Andy said,

“We admire the work SASH does with young people and were keen to continue to support the Sleepout, it brings a sense of community to people and organisations across the local area who are working together to help a great cause.”

To date, York RLA have raised nearly £9,000 through sleeping out; raising funds on their premises and sponsoring World Homeless Day. A huge amount towards our host payment of £18.50 per night for food and heating costs.

The Helmsley Group

The Helmsley Group donated £3,125 towards our Big Give 2018 campaign and Chairman John Reeves has taken part three times in our Sleepout. He said:

“Youngsters in trouble need all the help they can get and SASH provide a practical and safe alternative to hostels for youngsters who may have housing issues. We are proud to help and hope others will too.”

Hudson Moody

Hudson Moody helped get our Home for Good campaign off the ground. Visitors and residents around York can now see ‘Home for Good’ signs on some of their most prominent properties throughout the city.  Hudson Moody has also sponsored our summer picnic and provided move-on grants for young people leaving SASH.

Director Tarnia Hudson said:

“We chose to support SASH because it provides such a valuable lifeline to young people and we are especially proud to be actively supporting the Home for Good initiative in York and surrounding areas.”

How you too can work alongside SASH to achieve your objectives
