Opportunity, discovery and learning
The young people we help in Supported Lodgings have many issues to contend with – isolation, low self-esteem, poor educational attainment and mental health concerns to name just a few.
SASH Enhancement offers experiences and opportunities to help address these issues: connecting with other members of their community through volunteering projects; residential trips where they can test themselves to the limit, and surprise themselves when they succeed; visiting new places or discovering new things to do. SASH Enhancement offers things that most young people would normally have the chance to do. It’s just that those we help haven’t had that chance.
Our young people have a say in how the activities are run and the programme is delivered with help from local businesses, community groups and trusts.
The results are young people who feel more confident, who have broader horizons and new aspirations.
If you would like to find out more or discuss any of our SASH Enhancement projects please email Sash.Active@sash-uk.org.uk for more details.
